YZF 600R

This model is the most street and touring friendly of the YZF models. Because of this, efforts were not taken to reduce the weight of the bike, causing it to be the heaviest of the YZF models at 412 lbs. ItÕs seat is designed to be more comfortable than the race ready bikes and is ergonomically designed for extended trips in a tuck position, as well as being the shortest height in the YZF family at 31.7 inches. The fuel tank is the largest of the YZF models at 5 gallons, allowing longer trips between fuel stops. The handles on the back also serve as strap handles to haul luggage on those longer trips. While it is listed as a 600, the 600R is actually a 599cc motorcycle, putting it in a lower insurance bracket than the 600cc R6 or the 998cc R1. Couple the lower insurance with a substantially lower MSRP and it is easy to see why the 600R is a great starter bike built for the road.
