68 Cuda 340 FORMULA �S�



This is a 1968 340 Formula �S� Cuda. It has the 275 HP 340 motor and torque flight transmission. This transmission changes so smooth that you can hardly feel it change and think that it is still in second gear Not only is this car a fender tag original matching numbers car with only 79,000 miles, it is Galen Govier documented and is officially Galen Govier certified as an original 1968 340 Formulas �S� in the Chrysler Registry as #29 of #43
The Official Galen Govier Chrysler Registry Certificate comes with the car. Only 1800 340 were made, this car (with all its options) is the only one of less than 50.

Let�s talk about the car itself. This car is original and unrestored, other than the paint (which was recently repainted in the original rare fender tag matching QQ1 Blue) and the tires (only 5,000 miles old). These tires were made from 67-71. These particular tires came off another original 68 automobile and are genuine Goodyear Polyglass E70-14 tires. They are forty years old, but still look like new tires.

According to the fender tag, this 68 is the high option car and came stocked with:
� Wood steering wheel
� Full wheel hubcaps
� 1� wider rims
� Hood inserts (very rare) with the 340 S insignia (only 130 made)
� Seat wear pads, inserted
� Fully pleated pocket door panels
� Heavy duty shocks
� Heavy duty suspension
� Low pressure dual exhaust system with stainless steel tips

Have a good look at this body. Have you seen one untouched as nice as this one. It is just beautiful; laser straight and rust free. Documentation from the painter states that there was no body work or rust issues on the car in preparation for painting.(Supplied with the car)
The motor is the 340 HP with the high flow exhaust manifolds. It still has the original plug wire heat shields. (How about that? Almost impossible to find.)

The interior is outstanding and matches the quality of the era. Take a look at the pictures and decide for yourself The carpet is exceptional for an original 79,000 mile car. The seats are fantastic condition for a car this age They have no tears, sagging, or visual wear or unusual discoloration. The dash has a few hairline cracks. This a rare dash, it has the words (Barracuda 340 Formula S embossed into it) The color on the center strip on the bezel has some peeling, which only increases to point out the originality of the car. (You can restore a car as many times as you want, but it will only be original once.)

The brakes still have the original wheel cylinders and drums.

The 68 Texas license plates came in an unopened DMT envelope and appeared to have never been installed. These were personalized plates and required DMT approval to be transferred (.Go with the car)

The car came with a 68 Owner�s and Service Manual (still in the plastic), but not the originals,

The motor compartment has all the original running gear including the carburetor and the rare un-silenced air cleaner.

All the original insignias and fender tag emblems are still attached to the car including the rare 340 Hood inserts

The under carriage is rust free and still retains the original factory undercoating. There are road chips and the usual wear again all original and a very excellent condition. The photos show you as it is

After 50 years as a Mopar enthusiast and owning and restoring dozens of Mopars, I must say that this car has to be one of the finest un-restored original 68 340 Formula S Cudas available, let alone for sale.

If you read the Restoration and Mopar magazines, you will agree that the �A� body cars are now one of the fastest appreciating cars today.
They appraise this car $35,000

If this car was a 70 type Cuda, its value would be three times the asking price of $28,500.00.

How rare is this car? Well pull up the Barrett-Jackson web it shows only two (2) sold: one in 1999 and another in 2006 (an original 68 hemi car). But no 68 340 Cud�s 340 Formula �S�
